Yup. Not just for spring. Not just for Fall. These are my full year 2010 predictions.
It will be oh so rad.
1 - Beautiful Soup will be climbed by 7 more people.
2 - Alpine Club will be climbed by 3 more people.
3 - Keymaker will be climbed by 2 more people.
The easy access, relatively good landings and classic status of all three problems will make this area highly sought after all year.
4 - Moj will be climbed by 3 more people.
5 - Black Sheep will get a second and third ascent.
6 - Sandstone Violence will be climbed by 3 more people.
7 - Sex and Chocolate Direct will get sent. Finally.
8 - The three "new" hotspots will be the east bluff talus fields, the Massive Vertigo end of the west bluff talus fields and Steinke Basin.
9 - 7 new projects V6 or harder will get established.
10 - One of those projects will turn out to be double digit.
DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm predicting I will make an epic ascent of a portage trail hill - possibly hauling more than BFAC (aluminum canoe).

I predict that baby narc and baby gnar will meet and fall in love.
ReplyDeleteI also think that there will be 3 problems establised v10 or over this next season.
As for the new projects v6 or harder I'm going to guess the number will be more like 10. There's so much to develop and with more people becoming interested in staying a little more local (i.e. rather than driving every weekend to the red, ect.) As well as more people getting exposed to this climbing as info has only been availible for a little bit now via MP.
I also predict that Nic will get tired of waiting for Greatest Show to get cleaned off and he will end up doing it himself. He will then become bummed at the quality of the climb. None the less he will do it and I will come up to do it as well because I'm a user.
I predict that, for the first time in like 10 years, Narc will stay healthy for the whole season (Don't make me look bad Narc!)

I haven't tried it, but it's a pretty cool line. and it's right next to flatiron, which makes it a fun area. Peter is convinced it's a V6 and I remember Todd mentioning something about it not being V8 as well. That said, Todd called it his favorite problem at the lake and that stands for something.
