Farewell Old Friend

RV left town on Saturday for India. He'll be there for about a month and a half and then will fly back just in time to be best man in our wedding. I couldn't be happier that he's making the trip back.

We've climbed a bunch this spring and summer and RV has been a pretty good subject to take pictures of. At the same time he tends to lend himself to punishment. I've just been lucky to catch that through my lenses. I'm blown away by how many bad pictures that man can be in. It's almost mind numbing!

Here's my homage to RV for the first part of this year. I think I'm going to make this a twice yearly type of thing. What do you think?

  1. Very cool Steve! RV is a great guy, and fun climbing partner, I'm sad to see him leave.
On another note, Sawmill is awesome! There isn't a ton of rock, but what is there is world class, and very difficult. Those MN guys crush it. You gotta go.
    Cheers,

  8. Sawmill would be like 4 hours from Mpls. Haven't been but it's north of Tettegouche State Park which is an hour north of Duluth... ce

  10. Sweaty, there is plenty of good stuff at Taylor Falls to keep you occupied, or go clip some bolts at Willow or Redwing. Chris is right, Sawmill would be a long push, but worth it.
CE- yeah it was easy to find our way around. All the boulders are pretty close to each other, and the hike out on the Superior Hiking Trail is awesome. Go check it out man, you would crush it there.

  11. Cool thanks Remo-- trying to decide what to do with some time in late September. This place defintely looks like it's a possibility. I've done part (maybe 40-50 miles) of the Superior hiking trail in the fall and it was pretty awesome. Can you camp at the boulders? If you did would it be legal? I think it's National Forest so probably can right? ce

  12. Taylors is good sweaty. You should do the cave traverse. You'll do it quick. Just remember to get rad. Thats the key!!!

And sawmill looks good. need to get up there...

  13. I'm always trying to get rad... it should also be noted that the cave traverse is about 19 moves to many... but i will try it anyways. Id love to hear from people what climbs besides the cave traverse should be considered 'must do's' while there.

  14. Dear infidels,

You have no honor. You have sullied my good name through your weak and cowardly posting of pictures on your so called rad blog. This is not rad, it is sinful and evil. May a swarm of headless penguins consume you.

You may of course redeem some of your honor by posting various pictures of falling at Sawmill.

Tune in same time, same channel for your dose of hate brought to you by
