Update

So we're 5 days into the trip with 4 days left. Not much has changed really. Katie is climbing strong and has a couple projects that are a move away from being completed and I'm fairly close on the orb. I'd be psyched to do that one. That and Honeycomb at Dayton. Ian gave me the money beta for the last hard move and we're heading back tomorrow. Curious how it'll go. I feel close on it but it feels really hard for me.

RV is hurt. Again. Surprised? Nah. He hurt his wrist on Pythagorean Theorum and hasn't really been able to climb for the past three days. Really sad for him. He's in good shape right now and hopefully the smoting down will stop soon enough.

Sofie has been climbing well too and we're excited to show her Dayton and LRC.

As for sends, RV and I both flashed Nose Candy and Hueco Simulator. Both awesome. Katie and I did Pythagorean which was cool as we used totally different methods. More on that later though.

*UPDATE*Katie got mad at me cause i didn't mention she sent helicopter. She sent it. Fast. Like real fast. Then as she was going up the remaining jugs she started downgrading it. Mid problem. Then she repeated it for the camera.

Talk Amongst Yourselves

So we arrived. Chattanooga. Resting today and then Dayton tomorrow it sounds like. Wills made us tea after we got here. Then we moved an Air Conditioner. I know, we live an exciting life!

I wanted to wish Sweaty a quick recovery from Hernia Surgery. Nic and I were just talking about how he'd fallen off the face of the earth. Get well soon.

Oh RV...

Some things are just too good not to post. This is one of those things.

So there I was minding my own business, drinking a beer, cleaning up Moose's puke. You know, the standard night for me. And I get a random call from RV. He hates talking on the phone, being a ferner and all, so I was curious what he had to say.

"Do you have a laptop? Go check the flight info I sent you a while back."

A few weeks ago RV sent me some info on flights him and Sofie were gonna take to Chatty. I saw the dates and said all good. 19th-26th. Aces.

He bought the tickets. All set.

I finally get the e-mail up and see it immediately.

"Oh, shit, that is so classic!!!"

9/19/11-9/26/11, Davis to Chattanooga. Awesome.

This could be up for Punt of the Month. He'll get fixed I'm sure but still, so classic.

He left me with this...

"No, no, no. I am not missing this trip. We've been actually training! I'll drive if I have to!

I really can't wait to see him and Sofie. I've missed the both of them.

Climbing Mag/Snow Update

First things first, I'm VERY happy to see the new article in climbing mag about Devil's Lake. Jay did a phenomenal job with it and I'm so happy that him, Remo and Rhoads all got pictures published. Remo has the most impressive spread at a full page in full bad ass mode. Nic was even jealous.

It's nice to see people who've had such an effect on the lake get their due. As for the bouldering, there was never any reason to include it in the article as it didn't fit with the theme. I'm actually glad Jay left it out. It would have been too small of a mention and it only would have taken away from the already incredible article.

Second, Aaron needs to give some sort of snow update for us. Apparently him and Ben went up there on Sunday and shoveled some stuff off only to find ice everywhere. Once he finally got the ice off water purged off of the top in a river. Sounded hilarious to me.

Aaron, update please in the comments and I'll re-post it here. How much snow was up there? How long do you think it will take to melt out? When will shit be climbable???

Punt Of The Month - January

Only a week and a half till we leave for the south. It's snowing right now and Ian couldn't take it anymore. He's leaving tomorrow morning.

Speaking of Ian. The panel of judges has decided that he deserved the Punt of the Month for January.

1 - He moved back to Wisconsin.

2 - He moved back to Wisconsin in January.

3 - He moved back to Wisconsin in January knowing full well that he'd be relegated to the gym.

4 - He hates gym climbing.

So there you have it. It's truly rare you see someone move BACK to Wisco. I did it, and it turned out very well.

Nic did it and he's run out of things to climb. His life has reeled lower and lower and now he's just another bum living life in the bottle.

Ian did it and lasted less than a month. Proud effort but he just couldn't make it another week till the weather turned.
